Rules
and Regulations of T.C.M.A. Tae-Kwon-Do
It
should be understood by the
members of T.C.M.A Tae-Kwon-Do that the
purpose of the following rules
and regulations are primarily to
ensure the maximum benefit from
the study of Tae-Kwon-Do. Most of
these rules have been part of
Tae-Kwon-Do Martial Arts training
since its inception.
Primary Rules
- Bow to the Instructor
when you greet or leave
him/her at any Martial Arts
Setting. Also bow at the
entrance when entering and
leaving the Do-jang.
- Bow to the Christian and
American Flag upon entering
and leaving the class.
- Address the Instructor
as Mr./Ms or Sir/Ma'am etc..
- Assume the position of
attention when speaking to
your instructor or any other
black belt. Also, use the
words of courtesy such as
"yes sir" or "yes ma'am".
- Any substitute
Instructor must be treated
as you would your own
instructor
- No conversation is
allowed during practice time
except with the instructor's
permission. Students must
raise their hand if they
need to ask a question.
- Belts are not allowed to
be worn outside the Do-jang
at any time unless
instructed.
Secondary Rules:
- Ungentlemanly conduct
such as the use of
profanity, obscene gestures
or actions and unnecessary
roughness towards fellow
students will not be
tolerated.
- Students are expected to
be courteous and
understanding. They are also
expected to help fellow
students whenever needed.

loud laughing as well as
chewing gum have no place in

eating or wearing shoes in
the class is not allowed.
- Fixing the uniform or
tying belt must be done
facing away from the flag

- Students are not allowed
to sit on chairs while in

- Do not engage in any
activities that might
degrade the code of
Tae-Kwon-Do or the reputation
of this club.
- Do not enter class late
or leave early without our
instructor's approval.
- Do not hold a
demonstration or teach
Tae-Kwon-Do without your
instructor's approval.
- You must have your
instructor's approval before
entering any tournament or
competition.
- T.C.M.A TKD would be
grateful and proud to
display any trophies or
award you may earn.
Student's Attitude:
- Never tire of learning.
- A good student must be
willing to help T.C.M.A TKD
grow. Many students feel
that their training is a
commodity bought with their
monthly dues and are
unwilling to take part in
demos, teaching etc. T.C.M.A TKD
can afford to lose this type
of student. We like to look
at our school as our FAMILY.
- Always set a good
example for the lower
ranking students.
- Always be loyal to your
instructor and your school.
Never criticize the
instructor, the T.C.M.A TKD or
training methods.
- Students are allowed to
disagree with the instructor
but it must be discussed in
private.
- If an instructor teaches
a technique, practice it and
attempt to utilize it.
- If a student adopts a
different technique from
another club and the
instructor disapproves of
it, the student must
disregard the technique or
train at the club where
he/she learned it.
- A student must always be
eager to learn and ask
questions.
- Never break a trust!!!
Safety
Is an
important issue in Tae-Kwon-Do.
The classroom setting is not the
place for aggressive behavior.
We want every one to complete
each class safely. Control
should always come first. When
sparring, maintain an
appropriate distance. Never make
contact unless instructed.
Instantly obey your instructor's
command to "Stop". Tae-Kwon-Do
can be a lot of fun, but it must
always be safe.
Disciplinary action
will be taken for violations of
the above rules and regulations.
Penalties will vary at the
discretion of the T.C.M.A Tae-Kwon-Do, such
as verbal warnings, demotion of
rank, suspension or termination
of training.
